Our Summer begins with Sun in Cancer, the first of the water signs. Cancer says, “I feel”. Water provides lubrication, the ability to flow from experience to experience and from one condition to another. Cancer signifies the eternal parent, focusing on the security needs of the child. Cancer is the sign of protection and nurturing.

On the 5th of July Uranus stations retrograde in the sign Aries. Uranus in Aries, you could feel so unique and so much of an individual, that you may have a hard time intergrading that energy within any sort of social setting. You could fear the loss of your freedom, thus being uncomfortable with others. You could also be seen as so rebellious and challenging, that others feel uncomfortable with you. With Uranus in retrograde, your Lifestyle, Consciousness, and interest surpass most of your peers. Socialization for you can be frustrating. You may find yourself a reformist, years ahead of everyone else. When your peers finally do catch up, you will still be more progressive in thinking and understanding. If you have Uranus retrograde in your natal chart you are being asked to validate ones’ own sense of independence and uniqueness and in learning how to incorporate that into social situations...

Whatever our modality let us experience stillness as a state of Being and watch how it enhances the therapeutic journey. This will be a journey in joint practice to a level of Being where there is no pathology.

By being still and present we allow the Intelligence of the body to speak without judgment from the intellect. Intelligence knows in a way that personal intellect cannot hope to.

We will learn various structures of the central nervous system and their importance
in the inherent healing mechanism within. We will differentiate the healthy and restricted fluid movements, learn soft supportive attention to the craniosacral mechanism to provide ease for the client and expand our proficiency through grounding, centering and orienting exercises allowing us to discover an embodied sense of what it means to experience connection on a deep level.

Sherry Phillips started her exploration of healing through a degree in nutrition. She moved towards bodywork and has been a practicing touch therapist for 23 years. She started with massage therapy and deep tissue work and for the last 20 years is passionate about this work called Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.

She served as chair of the Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America for four years. She has studied with many teachers and keeps current with work in the field through numerous retreats, workshops, supervision and peer supervision. She has studied extensively with Mike Boxhall who teaches this work as a joint relationship in stillness. This embraces the origins of this work from William Sutherland, DO.

She has taught an advanced level of this work for the last few years and is a certified provider of CE’s for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork as well as the State of Florida Board of Massage. She is committed to joining with others to help find our true selves through the deep connection with Spirit that manifests in this work. Her work explores the connection of our Body, Mind and Spirit in present moment awareness that takes us on a journey of connection with our heart.

She lives in the midst of the National Key Deer Wildlife Refuge and the Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge in Big Pine Key, Florida with her husband, her cat and her faithful canine companion who teaches her much about love and staying focused. She spends the summers in the west enjoying the dry climate and the endless hiking opportunities that exist in New Mexico and southern Colorado. As a longtime scuba diver she feels that the environment of the coral reef surrounding her home has lent itself to her understanding of trusting the tide and all that life has to offer.

We begin the month with Jupiter square Pluto. The two Planets are in retrograde, Jupiter the Planet of expansion and Pluto the Planet of transformation. These two energies can provide the ambition to achieve great things. This can manifest as energy involving repairing, restoring or rebuilding our neighborhoods, Governments, Businesses, or institutions. This transit can also lead to legal conflicts. “Everything needs to be legitimate.”

August 3, Venus enters Libra. Relationships and Friendships are the main focus. This is also a time to be social. Get out do new things with new people. At this time Venus conjunct Saturn which means relationships are tempered by practical consideration.

August 9, brings a new Moon in Leo, this is a time of empowerment. Intimacy and deep levels of sharing are heightened...

Participants will need to bring their own Tarot deck. For study purposes, I recommend the Universal Waite deck, drawn by Pamela Coleman Smith and color-enhanced by Mary Hanson Roberts. The symbols are the most clear. We’ll cover the fundamentals, the archetypes and architecture of Tarot and how it works. You’ll leave with a basic understanding of how to read the cards.
